Artistic Statement

To dive into the worldview of a character is to build a close friendship. Just as I invest in cultivating strong relationships with those around me, I invest in appreciating the characters I portray. The human experience is unique for each person. Acting gives me the opportunity to explore the vast differences between us while also identifying countless connections.

The wedding of music and storytelling deepens the emotion of a piece. I am drawn toward music theatre because music provides the audience with emotions that can’t be articulated by the character. Every note has a purpose in guiding the audience through the character’s journey.

In presenting stories from the stage, I long to impress new ideas upon the audience. I long to provide joy and encouragement as well as sorrow and heartache and for people to see a reflection of their own experiences. This will continue to motivate me to act with empathy for every character that I have the opportunity to portray.
